Shipping Charge by Weight: How China to BD Shipping Is Billed

With BDChinaMart, the cost of bringing your product from China is a shipping charge by weight. We calculate it when the parcel arrives at our Dhaka office, and you pay it together with your balance on delivery.
Why we charge after arrival
Before the supplier packs the product, nobody knows the exact packed weight. Charging after arrival means you pay for the real weight, not a guess.
Actual weight vs size
Carriers look at two numbers:
- Actual weight — what the scale shows.
- Volumetric weight — based on the box size (length × width × height divided by a number the carrier sets).
For air freight the higher of the two is often used. That is why a big, light parcel — like a Bamboo Fiber Baby Blanket — can cost more to fly than its weight suggests.
How your shipping charge by weight is shown
When your order arrives we update it with the China → Bangladesh shipping amount. You see it on the Track Order page and on your invoice, and our team tells you before delivery.
A simple example
Imagine two orders. One is a pair of running shoes in a shoe box; the other is a large folded blanket in a soft bag. The blanket may weigh less, but its parcel is much bigger, so by air it can cost about the same or more. By sea the difference is usually smaller. This is why our team sometimes suggests a different method for different items in the same order.
How to keep shipping low
- Choose sea for heavy or bulky goods — see sea shipping from China.
- Combine items in one order.
- Ask us to request compact packing from the supplier.
- Foldable products such as Foldable Waterproof Tote Bag ship more efficiently.
Local delivery is separate
Delivery inside Bangladesh (inside Dhaka or outside Dhaka) is a separate small charge shown at checkout. See our shipping policy.
